Brexit Guarantee

with Westoe Travel

Following the latest European Council summit on Brexit, a further delay has been agreed to the UK’s departure from the European Union to Thursday 31 October 2019, at the latest.

This removes the threat of no-deal in the short-term, provided that the European Parliamentary elections take place as laid out in the Statutory Instrument that has been approved by Parliament, and covers the entire Summer season.

The Brexit extension provides certainty that people will be able to continue to travel to the European Union exactly as they do today, at least until the end of October 2019.

Should I book my holiday before Brexit or wait until after
Westoe Travel have been in business for 30 years and are fully bonded members of ABTA and only use ATOL bonded Tour Operators so when you book with Westoe Travel you can do so with complete peace of mind. The price you pay won’t change after you have booked, there is no benefit in booking late but by booking early, you guarantee the best choice and can benefit from special offers and fares currently available.

Will I need a visa to travel after Brexit?
Not according to the European Commission. They have proposed that visa free rules would apply even in the event of a no deal Brexit, assuming the same is offered to European citizens visiting the UK. If a deal is reached, then the current rules won’t change until the end of the transition period in December 2020.

Will flights still operate?
ABTA have announced that even in the event of a no-deal scenario UK airlines will be allowed to operate flights between the UK and EU.

Will my European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) be valid?
In the event of no deal, then UK registered EHICs will not be valid. In the event of a deal, then nothing will change until the end of the transition period. In any event, we would always recommend taking out your own travel insurance which will provide all the cover you need.

IMPORTANT - IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING ABROAD FROM 31 OCTOBER , ABTA ADVISE THAT YOU MAY NEED A MINIMUM OF SIX MONTHS VALIDITY ON YOUR PASSPORT IN THE EVENT OF A 'NO-DEAL BREXIT'
PLEASE CHECK YOUR PASSPORT ON THIS LINK - Check My Passport
